I support foundations that address suicide prevention, education, hunger and women's rights.
Father's Heart Ministries in NYCMission: help people move from dependency to dignity and from poverty to prosperity through a variety of programs.
PW: I believe Father's Heart addresses poverty from the source causes and provides people with resources to become empowered. When I tutor at the GED program on Saturday mornings, the line of people coming for the soup kitchen is hundreds deep. People of all ages, colors, and religions are served. Food Bank for New York CityMission: To end hunger by organizing food, information and support for community survival and dignity.
PW: No one should have to go to sleep hungry. Nearly one in five New Yorkers relies on Food Bank for food & other resources. $35 can help feed a child for ~2 months, $120 can help serve 600 fresh meals at a soup kitchen, $500 can help provide meals for a family of four for 7 months. |
